Christmas gifts are one of the key attractions of Christmas. As a parent, Christmas may be a giving you a headache because you need to know what is the most popular Christmas gifts are for kids. Christmas Gifts are quite a difficult thing to choose.

Christmas gifts are more about the sentiment than the price tag. Christmas gifts are not hard to find, since during the holiday seasons, there are lots of options for you. I would have to agree that homemade christmas gifts are a great idea and friends and family absolutely love them.

Make sure your homemade Christmas gifts are practical. It doesn’t have to be expensive and it doesn’t have to be huge as long as this year’s Christmas gifts are right on target. Personal Christmas gifts are becoming more and more popular each year. These Christmas gifts are great for the holidays and stuffing the stockings.

Wines and cigars as Christmas gifts are bound to strike the right chord for the men folk. To make your loved ones feel special Christmas gifts are ideal.

When it comes to Christmas gifts, many parents have no idea what the most popular Christmas gifts are for that year. But Christmas gifts are reciprocal; one cannot under-buy, one cannot be outdone. Most Christmas gifts are physical objects, capable of being wrapped and set under the tree.

Children’s Christmas gifts are probably the most exciting type of presents to shop for during the festive period, and are often the most affordable, too. Christmas gifts are a gesture of showing our love and concern for those who are special.

In most of the world, Christmas gifts are given at night on Christmas Eve, or in the morning on Christmas Day. Most exchange Christmas gifts and decorate their homes with holly, mistletoe, and Christmas trees, under which the Christmas gifts are stored. In fact, inexpensive handmade Christmas gifts are often the most cherished items under the tree. For most of the world, Christmas gifts are given at night on Christmas Eve (24 December) or alternatively in the morning on Christmas Day.

The best christmas gifts are always the unusual and different rather than the socks from Aunt Jessica or the tie from a sister Sue. Hand-made Christmas gifts are a fantastic idea and will make a lasting impression on the recipient for years to come.

Before you go out and buy some baby Christmas gifts, first realize for whom those baby Christmas gifts are really for: the parents. Christmas gifts are meant to be reminders of the gifts of the wisemen to the infant Jesus. Christmas gifts are usually wrapped beautifully in bright paper, sometimes with ribbons and bows and other adornments.

Christmas gifts are the most popular Christmas purchase, most adults have to buy Christmas gifts for lots of family members and close friends. A few good ideas for last minute Christmas gifts are ornaments, plants, wine baskets, hot chocolate or coffee baskets, coffee mugs, and many other ideas. Alternative Christmas gifts are a meaningful way to give a gift that keeps on giving.

Unique Christmas gifts are available for all budgets; just because a gift is individual does not mean that it has to be expensive. Christmas gifts are always great but there’s just something delightfully extra about receiving a gift for no particular reason. So once again I am reminded that the best Christmas gifts are not the ones you buy in the store. Skip the Boring Christmas Gifts this Year Christmas gifts are often bought last-minute and not a lot of thought is put into them. Favorite Christmas gifts are typically the most unlikely.

I want to make my own baby showshower invitations. i want to use my 4d ultrasound picture of my baby boy and vellum paper. Anyone know where i could go? I have no idea what to do.

You can go to Cropmom.com at http://www.cropmom.com a online digital scrapbooking, collage, card making site.

I would suggest the kits called "All About Baby," and "Visit From the Stork" to make your invitations.

Upload your photos as well as the scanned image of your ultrasound picture. Make your invitation using them. You can add your own text. There are thousands of graphics to choose from to create your invitation. The site has templates and kits organized by theme and elements. The tutorials are really helpful.

Then save it. Go to My CropMom and click on the layout. Then click the "share" link. It'll let you enter the email address of the recipient, and your screen-quality invitation will be sent via email for free.

For print-quality, you can purchase a JPEG file of your creation (it doesn't cost much for less than $2) and download it to your computer.

From here, you can either print your invitation at home. Or – what I usually do – is have it printed by Shutterfly or Snapfish.

It is an accepted fact that the Christmas tree tradition is one that was brought to the shores of America by German immigrants who continued a practice that was popular in their former homeland. Today, a Christmas tree, even a miniature one, is present in just about every home at Christmas. It is therefore interesting to note some little-know facts about the Christmas Tree and other traditions related to Christmas.

The first interesting fact is the source of real Christmas Trees for some Americans. These can be bought at a Christmas Tree Farm or at many local stores and other places of business in just about every town and city across the country around Christmas time. But according to the National Christmas Tree Association, Americans buy about 330,000 Christmas trees that are real through e-commerce or from a catalogue and have them shipped by mail-order.

The scent of real Christmas trees is the reason they are so popular. But as they stand silently in their decorative wonder, they also are providing another benefit. The Christmas Tree Association says the amount of oxygen produced on a daily basis by one acre of Christmas tree is enough to provide enough oxygen for 18 people. And during the first week, a Christmas Tree at home will use up to one quart of water each day to help retain its longevity for the many days of Christmas.

Since Christmas celebrations gained popularity in America, the Christmas Tree has always been a big tradition. During the 1950s however, artificial Christmas trees were not always green. It was very popular during those times to have artificial trees with other colors such as silver, pink and aqua. The appeal in having these colored Christmas trees may have been due to the fact that they looked shiny and bright and appeared like tinsel instead of green foliage.

An important ceremony related to the Christmas tree that gains national attention during the Christmas season is the lighting of the National Christmas Tree at the White House. This tradition can be credited to President Calvin Coolidge who lit the first decorated Christmas tree outside at the White House in 1923.

The lighting of the National Christmas Tree has also been used to convey some symbolic meaning not related to Christmas. It was not lighted until Dec. 22 in 1963 because of a national mourning period of 30 days for the assassination of President Kennedy. And while Teddy Roosevelt was President he gave an order that banned the Christmas tree from the White House, not for the assassination of President McKinley in 1901, which caused him to become president, but for reasons related to the environment.

Also of note is that when the National Christmas Tree was lighted on Dec. 13 in 1984, temperatures were in the 70s during an unusually warm December. Christmas has been celebrated in the United States since the 1600s although it wasn’t always very popular. It took more than two centuries into the mid-late 1860s for Christmas to become a popular holiday season all across America.

So maybe the rest of the country owes the holiday of Christmas Day to the state of Alabama, which in 1836 became the first state to declare Dec. 25 a legal
holiday. It is interesting to note that on Christmas Day of 1789 Congress was in session. And to show how far ahead of the game Alabama was, it wasn’t until June 26, 1870 that the federal government declared Christmas as a federal holiday.

Although Christmas is based on the Christian religion, not all Christian groups celebrate the season. Among the Christian groups who do not celebrate Christmas and related traditions such as sending greeting cards are Jehovah Witnesses.

Jehovah Witnesses and other non-participating Christian groups say Christmas isn’t specifically mentioned in the Bible as a time or reason to celebrate and since they strictly adhere to the word of the Bible, they refuse to celebrate Christmas.

Waiting to the last minute to buy gifts can make you panic. It seems like you are running out of time and you might not know what to get. So, what I’m going to do is share with you some last minute Christmas ideas.

That way, you will be able to everyone on your list a gift.

The last minute Christmas ideas are:

1. Movies/DVDs. This is a great gift idea for last minute shopping. There are a lot of great deals at various stores. Also, there are a lot of new movies that are coming out. Which makes this a great gift for anyone on your list.

You will have to get this gift no later than Christmas Eve if you want to be able to give it to the person you are getting it for on Christmas Day.

2. Make a Homemade Gift. This is another great last minute Christmas idea. You can make a gift basket or a stuffed stocking for someone. You could fill the stocking with all sorts of goodies. Or you can make a gift basket and fill it with candy, Christmas card, or anything else you want to fill it with.

This is great gift that you can personalize.

3. Amazon Gift Cards. This is a great gift idea for last minute shoppers. The cool thing about Amazon cards is that you can have them email the gift card to the person you are buying it for. Which means if you wait until Christmas day to buy a gift, you can get this gift and have it sent within 5 minutes.

Also, the person you are getting the gift card for can use it to buy whatever they want. Including things like movies, games, toys, clothes, computers, TVs, and many other items.

These are some last minute Christmas ideas. If you haven’t gotten all the gifts for everyone who’s on your list, the ideas mentioned above will be perfect. These are great gifts for anyone on your list.

Christmas as celebrated today is a culmination of centuries of traditions that are religious and secular and which came from different countries around the world. It is interesting therefore to look at some of the general ways in which Christmas is celebrated in these countries. The traditions examined for each country will be examples of some of the things that are unique to that country and which are done today, or which were once done by people in those countries.

To begin, it is symbolic to look at the town of Bethlehem, which is believed to be the birthplace of Jesus. The Church of the Nativity is located in Bethlehem and at Christmas it is decorated with a lot of flags and other Christmas decorations. A very large crowd usually gathers at The Church of the Nativity on Christmas Eve to see a dramatic parade procession of horsemen, led by police who are mounted on Arabian horses. Following the police in the procession is a lone horseman who carries a cross, followed by churchmen and government officials. Members of the procession solemnly enter the doors of The Church of the Nativity and place an ancient effigy of Jesus in the church. A silver star located deep in an underground cave-like section of the church marks the site where Jesus was born. A star is also set atop a pole in the town’s square. In Bethlehem, homes of Christians usually have a cross over the door and a manger scene is usually set up inside the house.

In Germany, home of the Christmas tree tradition, the Christmas tree is not seen until Christmas Eve. The tree is usually kept in a special room, or elsewhere, and decorated in secret with lights, ornaments, tinsels, angels, candies, nuts and cookies. It is then lighted, the presents placed underneath and then shown to the delight of Children on Christmas Eve. In Germany, St. Nicholas Day is on the 6th this is when Santa visits houses where children live. Knowing he is going to visit the children leave a shoe or boot outside or by the fireplace for Santa Claus. If they were good, he places gifts and candies inside the shoe. But if they were naughty, children will find twigs or a rod in their shoe. Dinner on Christmas Day includes roast goose, long loaves of bread filled with raisins, nuts and dried fruits. Other sweet delicacies are also enjoyed.

Many traditions in England are similar to those in the United States because such traditions originated in England and were brought to the United States by immigrants. The tradition of sending Christmas greeting cards started in England and is still popular at Christmas, as well as the tradition of neighbourhood carolling on Christmas Eve. Children also hang stockings on Christmas Eve in anticipation of Santa Claus filling them with Christmas gifts or treats. The holly, ivy and mistletoe are also used a lot in Christmas decorations. In England, the traditional Christmas Dinner is roast turkey, goose or chicken with stuffing, vegetables and roast potatoes. Dessert consists of the British or Christmas pudding with brandy sauce. A rich, fruit-filled Christmas cake may also be enjoyed later in the day. A tradition of pulling Christmas crackers also goes with the serving of food on Christmas Day. A cracker is a paper tube that contains a party hat, riddle, toy or trinket, and is brightly coloured and twisted at both ends. It gives out a crack as the contents pop out when it is pulled at each end. Also on Christmas afternoon, the Queen broadcasts a Christmas message to the nation, which is heard on radio and television.

It’s that time of year again. The shops are hanging out their decorations with care in hopes, no really it’s because St. Nick is almost here! It seems like every year stress is a main ingredient during the holidays. With Thanksgiving here and Christmas not far off, most of us say the same thing to ourselves: This is the year I will shop early so I can avoid last minute shopping. I will begin the holiday season fully relaxed and enjoy it!

Yet every year time seems to slip away and suddenly the holidays arrive. You end up racing to the stores, panic-stricken, trying to find candy in the empty racks or a beautiful turkey for the dinner table that is now triple the price because the only store that has any left is the high-end market down the street.

Even worse, when you need to find that ideal last-minute gift for your loved ones, it is no longer available in the color or size needed and all the toys requested from Santa are sold out with no re-stocks in the near future. You end up paying far too much money for something that will most likely be returned or never used.

Now imagine an entirely different scenario. Imagine arriving Christmas morning stress free, able to sit back and enjoy a calm holiday with your family because you still have cash in the bank and time on your hands.

How can you beat holiday stress, save big bucks and arrive stress free for Christmas? Start today. The time to put a plan into action is now. Black Friday has arrived and there is no better time to start cashing in on huge bargains than right now. You can buy all your gifts and foods (ones that can be frozen) now and save large amounts of money. If you sign up for the customer loyalty programs, you may even be able to get brand name gifts for no more than sales tax only as I did last year.

Many huge sales take place the day after Thanksgiving. Most stores have huge discounts on name brand clothing, toys and jewelry to name just a few categories. Example: Last year a diamond bracelet valued at $5,000 was on sale for $199.00 but only the day after Thanksgiving and only during the early bird special. That’s typical of the type of sales you can expect if you do your research.

Check out the stock in the store now if you’re already there and make a list of what you would like to buy on sale the day after Thanksgiving so you are prepared to head straight to the departments needed. Making a road map of what department you want to hit first will help you avoid wandering aimlessly and missing the items you’ve placed on your list. If you think of it as a game show or competition, you’ll be more inspired.

How many times have you said to yourself: This year I will get christmas cards out. Before you know it December is nearly over and Christmas is days away. You haven’t purchased the Christmas cards let alone put a stamp on one and you are too busy with everything else to do it. You beat yourself up, frustrated that yet again you are too late and time has run out. To avoid this frustrating cycle, start now when you aren’t as busy as you will be later on in the season.

Do one envelope a day or two or three a week and by Christmas, you will have reached your goal. If you don’t have Christmas cards left over from last year, do a Christmas letter instead to save time and money. Then after Christmas buy the cards for next year at 75% off so you’ll have the cards ready to go for next year.

Whatever you do, don’t overbook yourself. The holidays are not a contest and no one remembers who did the most last year. To avoid the stress of overbooking, make a wall calendar and put up the events that are most important to you and then prioritize. If you see it on a large scale in front of you, it will look like a map and help you make better choices for your time.

Take a bubble bath after a long day, with candles lit. If you have children, have your partner watch them so you can sit back and relax. Make sure to get some “me” time. Whatever you do, try to avoid diets during the holiday season. They will only add to your frustration and drain you of much needed energy. Instead, eat a healthy, well balanced diet and exercise. The exercise will give you the endorphins needed to keep the joy and celebration during the Christmas holidays.

There are many more stress busting ideas and ways to save money that you can come up with on your own. These are just a few to get you started. The main goal is to start now and be ready when the time comes so you won’t be shopping when you’re stressed out and frustrated. Make the time now and you’ll be enjoying the holidays as you did when you were a kid.

I found the invite in a blank envelope on my kitchen counter this morning. It was not addressed so I believe it must have been sent over with one of my kids from my neighbor sometime yesterday since I was home all day and no one came by.

If it asks for an RSVP then you should let them know whether or not you'll be there. If not, then don't worry about it. Go if you can and want to go or don't go if you can't or don't want to. If you feel the need to give a gift for the new baby, do it whenever it's convenient for you. You really aren't obligated to do anything unless there is an RSVP on the invitation.

I'm having a baby shower in August and I want to send invites to family that live too far away to come. This is my first child, I'm 28, and have been married for 6 years. Should I send invitations to people that obviously wouldn't come because of the distance? I want gifts from them, but I don't know if this is proper or not.

Maybe it's just me, but you saying upfront that you want gifts from anyone just sounds sooooooo tacky.

Accepting things from others for your child is a time to exhibit the most humble and gracious attitude.

Wedding save the date cards have become fashionable in recent years. Many modern couples are choosing to send save the date announcements and their popularity continues to grow. But should you consider sending save the date cards for your wedding? Here are the top seven reasons that save the date cards might be the right choice for you.

1. You’re planning to invite a lot of guests from out of town. If you have friends and loved ones spread out across the country or even the world, a save the date card gives them extra time to make travel arrangements. By sending out save the date announcements 6 – 12 months before the wedding, those far away guests will have the opportunity to book flights and hotels at better rates.

2. You’re having a destination wedding. There is a growing trend to choose fun and exotic locales for a wedding, such as Hawaii, the Caribbean or Las Vegas. If you’ve decided on a destination wedding and are hoping your invited guests will be able to come along, it’s a good idea to give them as much time as possible to plan. Sending save the date cards will give them the chance to schedule vacation time and make travel arrangements.

3. You’ve set your wedding date around the holidays or typical peak summer vacation time. If the date you’ve selected is around Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, even Columbus Day weekend, your guests may make other plans unless you alert them well in advance with a save the date card. Let people know your wedding date before they make vacation plans, and you have a better chance they will attend.

4. You’re seriously hoping that most of the people you invite to your wedding will attend. Even if your wedding will be in your hometown, with mostly local people invited, on a day that shouldn’t conflict with holidays or vacations, save the date cards can help you achieve more positive RSVPs to your wedding invitation. People have increasingly busy lives and are always making plans. Since your actual wedding invitation will only go out 6 – 12 weeks before the big day, your potential guests may have already made plans by the time they receive it. If they know in advance the date for your wedding, they won’t schedule anything else that day.

5. You’re just so excited that you’ve set the date that you can’t keep the news to yourself. Save the date cards can double as engagement announcements, letting people know that you’re engaged and have set the date for your wedding.

6. You want to show off your fiance’ to all your friends and relatives who have never met him. You can send photo save the date cards and everyone can see the love and happiness on your faces. In fact, the latest trend in photo cards is to include multiple photos on your save the dates, so you don’t have to settle on just one picture.

7. They’re fun! There are no rules and no etiquette, so your save the date cards can be unique and imaginative. They can reflect your personalities, hobbies, time of year you plan to get married, wedding destination, bold colors or just about anything you like. There are scratch-off save the date cards and save the date magnets. It’s your chance to grab everyone’s attention.

So with all these great reasons to send wedding save the date cards, is there any reason you shouldn’t? Well, because save the date cards are an optional gesture, you don’t have to send them if your budget is extremely tight. This is not an absolutely necessary expense, if you’re strapped for cash. No one will get mad at you or feel slighted if you decide you can’t afford to send them.

But for everyone else, save the date wedding cards are a fun way to share your happy news. If you want to guarantee that your guests will mark their calendars and save the date for your wedding, nothing works as well as save the date cards.

Did You Send Your Thanksgiving Cards?

If you didn’t, plan on do just that this coming Thanksgiving. You’re probably asking…as a Mortgage Professional, why in the world would I send Thanksgiving Day cards?

The answer is…because you want to be different! You want people to remember you! You want to stand-out from the rest of the crowd! You want to present your message at a time and place when people can and will take notice. To do that, you need to think differently than most other people in business. You need to send Thanksgiving Day cards.

Here are some facts to consider. The average family receives anywhere from 10 to 22 christmas cards and the average business receives about 21 to 42 cards. If your card is apart of that mix, it’s just going to get lost in the shuffle. Your card may not even make it to its rightfully esteemed place…the card display on the family mantle.

But, how many Thanksgiving Day cards did you receive last year? If you’re anything like me, probably none, zilch, zero. And, this is what I’m talking about. Here’s the perfect opportunity to make a statement and have people take notice of you and your business. Send Thanksgiving Day cards to your customers, prospects, and contacts instead of the same old traditional year ending Christmas/New Year card.

I’m sure you know how to send a greeting card…but the Internet does give you a couple more options that you may want to consider.

Option #1: The traditional method – Shop and buy your Thanksgiving Day cards, sign them, address them, and then mail them.

Option #2: The electronic card or eCard (Emailed) – Just Google “greeting cards” or “Thanksgiving Day cards, choose a supplier, pick a greeting card, edit your card and message, enter the email addresses of the folks you wish to send, pay as required (remember, free isn’t always the best quality), and then send it!

The disadvantages to this option are that the card is truly electronic or digital with no hard copy, is geared more for viewing by a single individual rather than a family or husband and wife, and there’s no continuing marketing value. Your card has a very short life…once your card is viewed; it’s probably going to be “deleted.”

Option #3: The electronic card (Mailed) – Although the steps involved are exactly the same as in the previous option, in this option you would provide the names and mailing addresses instead of email addresses. The card is actually printed with your details and mailed for you.

If you hate addressing cards like I do…this is a great option and can be used for other occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. You just need to supply a good mailing list. In my humble opinion…cards that are humorous and/or animated should probably be reserved for occasions other than Thanksgiving and the year ending holidays. In the end however…it’s your call!

Lots of websites provide free access to cards. Large sites like AmericanGreetings.com, Hallmark.com, and Bluemountain.com also offer free cards. Many of these sites have paid membership subscription areas if you’re looking for attractive and quality cards for your mortgage customers and prospects. It’s sometimes worth the addition expense for a timely, professional, and truly unique card to carry your mortgage marketing message.

Here’s hoping that you’ll continue to think outside the box, and that your mortgage business is a huge success!
