She's definitely having a girl . . . the other baby will let them see what it is!
Why not try a neutral color, like green or yellow? And you could make your own style of shower invitation by including a poem.

~Your Twins~
The heavens were excited -
(statistics were just right)
"Gather 'round," the wisest angel said,
"God's designing twins tonight."
It's quite a marvelous process,
As anybody knows -
Two separate souls begin their lives,
As His love just overflows.
Perhaps he'll make them just alike,
Or as different as can be,
But that's the way He wants it -
He's planned it that way you see.
He must then find a loving Mom,
A very special Dad -
For twins take special parents,
And the best just must be had
~Old Noah~
Old Noah thought his ark was full
and waited for the rain
but our house wasn't quite full yet
to us twas very plain
but now the happy time has come
we proudly show our grins
another pair has come on board
Please welcome our new twins

I would have just a little note at the bottom saying something like "when buying a gift, please keep in mind one baby is a girl and the other is a surprise, so a good mix of girl and gender friendly items would be a great idea".

You could say "your invited to a baby shower of twins!!! The specail thing is one is a girl! But the other baby we are wanting to be a surprise. So we dontknow if it is a boy or girl!"

just word it like when people dont want to know what they are having and so people will buy them pampers, wipes things they def. need or unisex outfits so whatever it is it will be able to wear.

well its kinda corny but you could say we are having twins one is a girl the other was being stubborn
so we are going to have to wait until its born

You don't need to mention it. Many expectant women don't know the sex of the baby anyway, so it won't be strange on the invitation if you don't say anything. How about 'Double Trouble'. That way people will know to bring two of everything!

I'd leave gender out of the question altogether and just address the fact that twins are expected. Let people buy neutral colors for the clothing- easier for Mom in the long run since everything will be interchangeable.

just go for them being both girls if this is a natural birth. a boy/girl twin birth is alot more rare then normal twins. boy/girl births are more common as a result of insemination or fertility drugs.

If you only know one gender, why not just say both are a surprise? Otherwise I worry there will be a big pile of girl stuff and if the other twin is a boy there will be a big lack of gender neutral stuff.

I would be cautious of saying you are having a girl but not sure of the others sex on the invites. People will end up playing it safe and buying only pink… Then what if the other is boy? You'll have nothing at all… You may want to express gender neutral would be appreciated.

Hmmm…well heck you can always tell them just that! Ask for girl and unisex items in case they're both girls or one's a girl and one's a boy.

If you mention that one is a girl people will get pink. I would either not mention or else say 'gender unknown' since often at birth the predicted sex is incorrect.

Ask for gifts in pink and yellow or white. Don't refer to the sexes — just twins.

That's a good question, being as though that's very odd for twins make the wording FUNNY!!! Look at it in a funny way instead of negative. Check out theses web sites: babybingo.com, invitingsmiles.com. and babyshowercentral.com!!! GOOD LUCK
